As an ambient + interactive experience, the design blended many considerations. It must be non-intrusive, visually interesting, educational, immersive and most importantly, automated. A viewer can sit back and watch time synced animations, read the latest news or data from eBay's API but also walk up and browse eBay's marketplace — even make purchases using an on-screen QR code and the eBay app.
Special considerations are needed when designing a touch-experience of this size. Accessibility limitations, screen materials and environmental concerns were the driving force behind the button sizing, using tap over swipe, and keeping interactive elements as close to middle area where possible.
